Glass is said to have been invented in the north of Mesopotamia about 4,200 years ago. The glass was opaque and made by using the colours and patterns of turquoise, lazurite, and agate. As people believed that bright-colored stones concealed big power, they thought carrying these stones with them could prevent them from disasters.
