In the early Iron Age, most of Iranian hieroglyphic pottery was based on various animals. Although their shapes were different, they were vessels used in banquets or sacrificial ceremonies. The pottery was made according to the shape of a bull, with a water injection hole on the back and a water outlet between its forefeet, from which wine could be poured in. The liquid flowing out of animal-like utensils symbolized mysterious power for the people in ancient times.
