The Hokai-ji Temple was built in 1051 by Hino Sukenari. The sitting statue of Amitabha Buddha was made in 1098 to fulfill the wish of Fujiwara no Munetoshi, the grandson-in-law of Hino Sukenari. According to Zhongyou Ji, the diary of Munetada, this Amitabha Buddha is a replica of the size of Hino Buddha. "Hino Buddha" is a Buddha made by Jyoucyou on the request of Sukenari. This work is a company work of "Heisei Luozhong Luowai Tu". Like the "Pure Land, Byōdō-in ", in the middle is the Amitabha Tathagata, and as if the Amitabha Hall appeared, and the Gandhanras around it is praising Amitabha.
