Hirayama Ikuo said, "Istanbul is situated in the Bosporus Strait, which connects the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. Sometimes the entire city is shrouded in sea fog. I was indulged in the atmosphere of the night, so I fantasized about the dome and the spire of the blue mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) in the blue sky under the hazy moon. Istanbul is located at the junction of Asia and Europe, and it is a place where the civilizations of the East and West converge. The Hittite civilization was born in 2000 B.C and became the center of Byzantine culture in the Eastern Roman Empire after the colonial rule by Greece. After the 15th century, the Islamic civilization was rooted here. A variety of civilizations develop and flourish on this land.
