Mt. Fuji, a View from Koizumi

  • Hirayama Ikuo
  • 2005
  • Color on Paper (Japanese Style Painting, Nihonga)
  • 80.3×116.7cm

Under the cloudless blue sky, Mount Fuji is covered with glittering snow. This is Mount Fuji overlooked from Jiafei Koizumi Station, where the museum is located; records of that time showed that the foothill scenery was seen from the prospecting platform of one-third of the gushing water of Koizumi in Jiafei, while the paintings near the top of the mountain are said to be based on the observation of Fuji Mountain sketches in Mingze Village and Hekou Lake. At first glance, "Fuji Koizumi" is a sketch of the Fuji Mountain, but it combines the most beautiful side of Lingfeng from many angles. Most of Hirayama Ikuo's works are combinations of selected pictures from a large variety of sketches. This painting is also one of his representative works.
